(Español) Upcoming Reyburn CyberTuner Classes at PTG and other conventions

Dean Reyburn , Mitch Kiel and Michel Lachance will be teaching classes on Reyburn CyberTuner at PTG Regional Conventions and other locations (see below for contact info). One class is introductory, the other intermediate to advanced. If you're new to RCT, computers, or visual tuning, take the Intro class before the Advanced class.

Class descriptions:

  • Class 1: Introduction to Reyburn CyberTuner
In this introductory class, we demonstrate basic RCT operations, such as automatic sample taking; selecting one of ten stretch styles with one click of your mouse; "prelistening" to the tuning with RCT's predicted beat rates; selecting the best tuning partials; "automagic" chromatic both-ways NoteSwitching (no hands or feet); saving and organizing RCT's unlimited number of tuning files; and more.

  • Class 2: Advanced Reyburn CyberTuner techniques
We demonstrate some of RCT's advanced tools such as Custom Equalizer, which lets you micro-adjust the stretch of every octave and instantly see a graph of your "tweaks"; Pianalyzer, RCT's spectrum analyzer, which measures each partial's pitch, inharmonicity, sustain, and volume; using RCT's graphs and spreadsheets to analyze a piano's scale design and create an optimized tuning; choosing one of RCT's 57 stored historical temperaments or creating and saving an unlimited number of your own; using RCT to measure and score the RPT exam faster than ever; and more.

  • Class 3: Pitch Raising with Reyburn CyberTuner
This class is for all levels. We introduce you to the pitch raise program built into RCT. Faster and more accurate pitch raising with RCT's auto- measuring and dynamic overpull percentages optimized for each note. At the end of the class, Dean or Mitch demonstrates a major pitch raise on a real piano in less than 15 minutes.

  • Class 4: The Digital Aural Tuner: integrating Aural and Visual techniques
This is an advanced class. We'll discuss advanced techniques for using both aural and visual tuning together. RCT displays lots of aural tuning information, this class shows you how to combine that information with what your ears tell you.
