If your Pocket PC is broken to the point that it is difficult or impossible to deactivate, use the instructions below to get an activation code for your new machine. If you find it time-consuming or hard to deactivate you may use these instructions (even for machines which are working).
If your Pocket PC is functional enough to deactivate, please use these instructions.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY DELAY GETTING YOUR NEW ACTIVATION CODE.
0. Pick out your new Pocket PC. Make sure you are aware that your machine must have a slot for your SentinelKey, CF, SD, mini-SD or micro-SD card. For compatibility information see www.reyburn.com/pocketpc.html If the new machine does not have the right type slot you will need to switch machines or trade your SentinelKey for a different type. See the cross-grade form form for this trade.
1. If your old machine is not functional we ask that you provide proof of this before we issue a new activation code. One way to handle this is to send the old machine to us or a local RCT distributor. As soon as you provide us with a Fedex, UPS, DHL internet verifiable tracking number in the Activate Web Form, we can issue an activation code immediately (please indicate which company). We do not recommend sending USPS. Note that the machine does not need to arrive to issue an activation code, you only need provide one the web form a tracking number which can be verified on the internet. Addresses are in the back of the Pocket RCT Getting Started Manual. Our current address is:
Reyburn Piano Service, Inc.
2695 Indian Lakes Rd.
Cedar Springs, MI 49319 USA
Note: we don't normally send the old machine back, if we do there is a charge (usually $50 +s/h or more) to deactivate and ship it back. Before sending something to us we recommend asking for an RMA number.
If you can't send us the old machine we ask you to provide paperwork showing proof postitive of what happened to the old machine. Fax the paper work to 616-696-8121.
For instance, if you have an exchange warranty, please fax us the paperwork which shows that you exchanged the machine for a new one. If the machine was stolen, fax us the police report.
After faxing paperwork to us, please fill out the Activate Web Form. Even if you already filled out the web form recently, doing so again will speed things up.
2. Install Pocket RCT 4.0.0f1 or later on your new Pocket PC. Complete install instructions are in the Pocket RCT Getting Started Manual, page 1.
Does your new machine have Windows Mobile 5.0? If so you may need to upgrade to a later version.
If you need to update to a later version see this page: http://www.reyburn.com/rctupgrade.html
3. Apply for a new activation code at: http://www.reyburn.com/activate.html
Note: Normally we respond to activation requests by the end of the next business day, sooner if possible.
Please include either a tracking number or type a note in the comments field indicating the date you faxed us paperwork. Note that we recommend obtaining an RMA number from us by email or phone before shipping anything.
