If your Pocket PC is broken to the point that it is difficult or impossible to deactivate, use the instructions below to get an activation code for your new machine. If you find it time-consuming or hard to deactivate you may use these instructions (even for machines which are working).
But please note below that we charge for shipping and handling to return a machine, we recommend deactivating if possible.
If your Pocket PC is functional enough to deactivate, please use these instructions.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY DELAY GETTING YOUR NEW ACTIVATION CODE.
A. Pick out your new Pocket PC. Make sure you are aware that your machine must have a slot for your SentinelKey, CF, SD, mini-SD or micro-SD card. For compatibility information see www.reyburn.com/pocketpc.html If the new machine does not have the right type slot you will need to switch machines or trade your SentinelKey for a different type. See the cross-grade form form for this trade.
B. If your old machine is not functional we ask that you provide proof of this
before we issue a new activation code. One way to handle this is to send
the old machine to us or a local RCT distributor. Send only the machine itself, no ac adapter or accesories. As soon as you provide us
with a Fedex or UPS internet (NOT USPS, NOT regular post) verifiable tracking number in the Activate Web Form, then
we can issue an activation code immediately. Whatever method you use to ship, make sure to insure the shipment for the replacement cost of Pocket RCT,
which is $800 or more. We do not recommend sending USPS ( regular Postal Service). If you do send the unit regular post (NOT RECOMENDED!)
then we can't activate until the unit arrives (IF it arrives). Note that if you ship Fedex or UPS and provide the
tracking number on our web form, the machine does not need to arrive to issue an activation code, you only need provide one the web form a tracking
number which can be verified on the internet.
Please send the machine itself only, no ac adapter, no SentinelKey or any other accessory is needed.
Addresses are in the back of the Pocket RCT Getting Started Manual. Our current address is:
Reyburn Piano Service, Inc.
2695 Indian Lakes Rd.
Cedar Springs, MI 49319 USA
Note: we don't normally send the old machine back unless you request we do so. If we do ship a machine back to you we charge only for shipping and handling (usually $25 in the USA) to ship it back. To get the machine back you must request return and provide payment within 10 days of its arrival or the machine will be disposed of. No machines will be held after 30 days. Before sending something to us we recommend asking for an RMA number. Not responsible for unclaimed machines after 30 days. Please include check or credit card information. If you do not include payment, we assume you don'ft want your machine back.
We recommend that if your machine can be booted and deactivated you do so yourself. If you send us your machine and it IS functional enough to be deactivated, AND you want it returned, that's a lot of work for us. In that case you're asking us to do your job, asking for a service that's over and above the call of duty. To return a functional machine which you could have deactivated yourself we charge a $75 deactivation charge plus shipping and handling to return the unit. Please include check or credit card information. If you do not include payment, we assume you don't want your machine back.
Reyburn Piano Service, Inc. is an evironmentally responsible company, we recycle or dispose of old electronic and batteries properly.
If you can't send us the old machine we ask you to provide paperwork showing proof postitive of what happened to the old machine. Fax the paper work to 616-696-8121.
For instance, if you have an exchange warranty, please fax us the paperwork which shows that you exchanged the machine for a new one. If the machine was stolen, the police report will usually be fine, but all paperwork is subject to approval.
After faxing paperwork to us, please fill out the Activate Web Form. Even if you already filled out the web form recently, doing so again will speed things up.
