The most advanced piano tuning system on the inner planets.
On the inner planets?
It goes without saying that RCT is the most advanced piano
tuning system on Earth, but what about the other inner planets?
In astronomical terms, "inner planets" refers to the four planets closest to the sun in the Earth's solar system. These are (from the sun outwards):
.......Mercury.....Venus...........Earth........Mars
The only one of these planets which shows any sign of beings with interest in advanced electronic and aural piano tuning techniques so far is the Earth. I have checked the logs of the Mariner, and Voyager NASA robotic space probes. Neither missions to Mars nor Venus indicate any sign of piano usage, let alone advanced piano tuning.
The remaining inner planet, Mercury, has an intense climate, and lack of atmosphere making piano use unlikely. Sound transmission on a planet without an atmosphere is problematic at best, and the extremes in temperature would also make it difficult to keep a piano in tune for more than a few seconds at a time. If there are any pianos on Mercury, Dampp Chaser would certainly have ample sales opportunities.
We could just say "in the Solar System", since it seems unlikely that any pianos exist on the outer planets, but we felt that sounded a little pretentious.
But how about the outer planets? Since no space probes have landed on any of the outer planets, (at least not from Earth!) we feel it would be premature to make any claim that extends that far. Besides, any piano that exists on the gas giants Jupiter or Saturn would have to be made of a uranium-titanium alloy just to stand up to the atmosphere and gravity. We think such an instrument would be found seriously lacking in tone quality, and action responsiveness. (and you thought you had voicing/regulation problems!)
Since we believe in truth in advertising, anyone with evidence of extraterrestrial
advanced piano tuning techniques, systems
or devices is encouraged to contact me at:

Please report any contact with off world piano techs right away, since the
IAPBT and the PTG may be interested in off-world technicians, possibly adding
"Alien" as a third PTG membership category.
